Lyon’s Contemporary Art Biennial starts today

Lyon’s Contemporary Art Biennial starts today

The thirteenth edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Art will take place

from September 10th 2015 to January 3rd 2016.

This year, the chosen theme is Moderne Life. The artists participating explore the paradoxes of contemporary culture in different regions of the world, aesthetically and philosophically speaking but also in subjectivity, technology and social formations. Their art reflects the modality throughout which the multiple heritages of modern era still influence today our way of thinking and seeing the world and the important questions of our everyday lives.

The art festival will take place in three different exhibition venues this year:

  • La Sucrière and le Musée des Confluences in the new modern neighborhood of La Confluence
  • Le Musée d’Art Contemporain (MAC) in la Cité Internationale

Just like our guests, the artists participating come from all over the world. Twenty eight countries will be represented this year.
